Countdown to Tour
As requested by Owen...

I'll post once a day till we get down to 1 to camp!
We can talk in between, but I'll just blurt out the day we're on.
Speakin' of, it's officially 51 DAYS!!
Hurray, Indoor Legends is starting up for another great season!
Ya know, 2010 is gonna be a good year. Got my birthday on the Super Bowl, then the WInter Olympics, then Legends. That's pretty awesome.

tomorrow makes 49, and the drop of another 10 digit!
49 days! One more tens digit drops. Been counting since 80-some.

I had a nightmare of December camp. There was a woodwind line and Matt Jensen was teaching basics.
Woodwind line? Yikes....
I have dreams of Legends all the time, usually consisting of us contras in uniform, and we get pulled away from rehearsal and told "hey, the new cotras are in and someone has to unwrap them" so we get to spend the rest of pre-show readying the new contras, which in my dream have a slight blue sheen to them (kinda strange, like that adamentine metal in fantasy stories).
wow, I did miss a few days

29 days!!!
28 days!!
wow. I hope we all make it. I can't wait to share the excitement with everyone else. And btw: I have never auditioned for Legends. But I was in it last summer. lol. I cannot get enough of drum corps. Espically Legends. And I hope everyone has a goog enjoyable show this year. Not that thye didn't last year. But. Yeah. Whatever. Can't WAIT!!!
I do believe today is actually 29 :P
yeah
well
I did count it... and it is a day off, but oh well.
count down to the day before!
I think all of the excitement in this thread should be translated into something productive....
...like abs workouts!
Once step ahead of you Ryan.
25
sorry I missed a few days-- bro took the cpu out all weekend
25 days left to prepare and get stronger. This should morph into a countdown thread in which everybody tells ways they are working to make 2010 Legends the strongest drum corps possible.
Cinder Block Basics?
I agree with Derek. So let me be the first to tell of my improvements. I am considering trying out for baritone or bass drum. But anyway I have been working out everyday, for like 2 1/2 months, doing all kinds of exercises. It hurt at first, but if you work at it, it really pays off. I can hold a baritone for like 10 minutes. I am pretty sure that I could do more, but I haven't really tried. I am just encourging everyone to workout, like Derek said. It'll be so much better in the long run. So I am looking forward to seeing you all in December! I can't WAIT!
better figure out what you're auditioning for!!! owen, cinder block basics are something we will probably not use frequently. sorry for any problems.
24 days
I am auditioning because, quite simply, I LOVE this activity. Classicly long, loud chords while the drumline beats up some simply powerful rythme right to the cut off which echoes in the stands; well executed and difficult drill moves or stunts; a ballad that has so many mood changes it pulls you one way and then another; these are some of the reasons why even hearing the words 'drum corps' gives me goosebumps and makes me shiver. Not only do I love this activity, but I see a corps that's on the rise from my home state, and I have to jump onto that. I want to one day see Legends taking World Class titles and say "man, I was a part of building that!" and "I remember when..."
That's my reason. What am I doing though to make Legends 2010 the strongest corps possible? Practicing every day, urging my friends coming to camp with us to practice, making sure my friends and myself will all be financially capable to keep this corps alive, and generally building the hype here in Fruitport.
23 days
I dig that too.
22 days.

Only once a day? That'll make for some boring conversation.
